Ballari, Apr. 20: The birth Anniversary of Basavanna, a prominent humanist, vachanakar, and social reformer who advocated the principle of ‘Kaiyakave Kailasa’, was commemorated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Ballari.
Smt. Radhika explained the significance of the day and said that Basavanna was a 12th century sharan. He preached social equality through the Anubhav Mantapa. He preached to the world that ‘Kindness is the root of religion’. He enriched Kannada literature through vachanas, she said. Smt. Saraswati told the staff that they should understand the importance of vachanas and try to implement them in our lives.
ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ, ಏ. 20: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಚನಕಾರ, ಸಮಾಜ ಸುಧಾರಕ, ಕಾಯಕವೇ ಕೈಲಾಸ ಎಂದು ಸಾರಿದ ಮಹಾನ್ ಮಾನವತಾವಾದಿ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರ ಜಯಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರಾಧಿಕಾ ಅವರು ದಿನದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತ, ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರು 12ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ಶರಣರು. ಅನುಭವ ಮಂಟಪದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಮಾನತೆ ಸಾರಿದರು. ‘ದಯವೇ ಧರ್ಮದ ಮೂಲವಯ್ಯ’ ಎಂದು ವಿಶ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾರಿದರು. ವಚನಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ಅವರು ವಚನಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು, ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ವರ್ಗದವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
