Ballari, October 2: The birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the second Prime Minister of India Shri Lala Bahadur Shastri was celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Ballari.The program started with lamp lighting and floral tributes to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri by the Pradhanacharya. After regular school prayers, Raghu Pati Raghava Rajaram… and Vaishnava Janato… songs were sung. Sanskrit teacher Smt. Prerana MC gave a speech on the ‘Peaceful Man’ Lal Bahadur Shastri and his great simplicity. Smt. Anita called Mahatma Gandhi the ‘Father of the Nation’ and talked about the weapon of non-violence he used. Pradhanacharya coined the iconic slogan Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan to inspire both soldiers and farmers, embodying the great thoughts of the two men.
