Ballari, Aug. 12: Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Jayanti and Dr. S. R. Ranganathan’s Birth Anniversary (National Library Day) were celebrated herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Ballari. The students spoke about the achievements of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan and said that libraries are temples of knowledge. They are the best places for acquiring knowledge. They play an important role in increasing knowledge for students, researchers and the public. They spoke about the life, achievements and contributions of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, the father of the Indian space program, to India in the field of science. Later, the school librarian, Sri K. Gowris, informed the children about the importance of libraries.
ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ, ಆ. 12: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೋತ್ಥಾನ ವಿದ್ಯಾಕೇಂದ್ರ – ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ವಿಕ್ರಂ ಸಾರಾಭಾಯಿ ಜಯಂತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಡಾ. ಎಸ್. ಆರ್. ರಂಗನಾಥನ್ ಅವರ ಜನ್ಮದಿನವನ್ನು (ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ದಿನ) ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಡಾ. ಎಸ್. ಆರ್. ರಂಗನಾಥನ್ ಅವರ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತ, ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳು ಜ್ಞಾನದ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳು. ಅವು ಜ್ಞಾನಾರ್ಜನೆಗೆ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ಸಂಶೋಧಕರಿಗೆ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಪಿತಾಮಹರಾದ ಡಾ. ವಿಕ್ರಂ ಸಾರಾಭಾಯಿಯವರ ಜೀವನ, ಸಾಧನೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಆನಂತರ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ ಗೌರೀಶ್ ಅವರು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
